They must be able to develop straightforward design solutions to complex problems and thrive in a team environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required enabling an effective interface with other professionals, the production of appropriate documentation, and the presentation of results to a limited internal audience

The position requires an individual with strong analytical-base design skills, performing analysis, trade studies, developing conceptual designs and maturing those designs into the production phase, often in an environment where requirements may change, and cost and schedule pressures dictate an efficient approach

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop AC and DC HV charging control strategies and requirements definition for global markets
  • Assemble models (via Simulink) for verification of electric vehicle charging system for on-vehicle (BMS/HV/LV/CAN/LIN) and off-vehicle (EVSE/grid/cloud) systems
  • Design PCB layout of complex multi-layer rigid boards, including DFMEA and PFMEA
  • Design for compliance to safety, EMI, and other specifications (e.g. UL2580 UL991, IEC 60950, etc.)
  • Support embedded software engineers by providing verified system models with supporting documentation (flowcharts, state diagrams, UML Sequences, etc)
  • Support requirements decomposition from multiple sources, including vehicle-program cascades, global standards and regulations, lessons-learned, diagnostics, etc.
